Quantiferon Gold ® TB testing is now undertaken at Western Diagnostic Pathology instead of being referred to QML.
Internal WDP practices have been reviewed to ensure that best practice protocols are undertaken for all aspects of the Quantiferon Gold ® TB Test. This has resulted in revision and change to WDP practices for the test.

All previous codes for the test have been discontinued.
Medicare rebateable testing is only available for immuosuppressed or immunocompromised patients. The questionnaire records the information to enable correct classification of the testing.
Specific collection, handling and transport requirements are critical to the handling, processing and results of this test. Therfore ALL Pathology Collectors who undertake the test at a designated location must be trained using the WDP checklist.
With the more widespread use of the test for both Medical and Commercial related testing the method of supply has been changed to the same as for all other pathology consumables. The supply order number has been added to the order sheets for the WDP designated Quantiferon Gold ® TB Test locations.
